Propagation

Here is where I will show you how to produce new plants from those you already have in your garden, also known as propagation.

  • You can propogate plants in many ways. By collecting the seeds from existing plants, by buying new seeds and through taking cuttings or by division.
  • I can show you how to propagate from the plants you already have and from ones you don’t, how and when to collect a variety of seeds, how to germinate and then grow them on to mature plants that can be planted out.
  • Cuttings can be taken from spring to late autumn from a whole variety of shrubs, trees and perennials. I can also show you how and when to take cuttings from plants in your own garden or further afield.
  • A lot of perennial herbaceous plants (plants which come back year after year) are propagated by division.
